Trapster on your Android

Main Screen
The blue shield shows your current GPS location and follows you in real time. The emanating red lines show the Virtual Radar alert zone. The alert zone is directional, and dynamically narrows and elongates as your speed increases. Icons animate while the corresponding audio alert is played.
Intelligent Alerting
The Trapster Intelligent Alerting system only alerts you to traps that are along your route, eliminating extraneous alerts that can distract you from the road.
Reporting Traps You See
Simply click on the Report button (after logging in) to report a trap along your route. When you select the appropriate trap type, it is placed at your current GPS position. If the correct position of the trap is different than your current GPS position, you can further pinpoint the correct location by dragging the map.
Sound Themes
Customize Trapster with one of 6 languages including English, French, German, Portuguese, Arabic, or Spanish. You can select the sound theme that best matches your personality, be that Knight Rider, Yogi and Boo Boo, Austin Powers...and the list goes on. Check out the list under the main settings menu on your Android device.
Map Display
This screen controls what items are shown on the map. At times you may wish to temporarily disable display of some items to reduce crowding.Map Type:
To change the look and feel of the map from your basic map to a Terrain or Satellite view, select "Settings" from the main Android Menu on your phone, and then select "Map Type".Speedometer:
The Speedometer tracks your speed and changes colors from orange to red to indicate the amount you are driving over the set speed limit.Speed Limits:
Our Speed Limit indicator tracks the speed limit for the road you are driving. It is synchronized with the Speedometer to notify you when you are over the limit.NAVTEQ Traffic:
Real time traffic and incident alerts can also be enabled. The green, yellow, and red lines in the image below indicate fast, medium, and slow traffic conditions.Patrol:
As you drive, you will notice some blue lines displaying on the roads. These blue lines tell you that other Trapster users have recently traveled these streets, and “patrolled” the area for traps. This inherently raises the confidence factor on the road. Turn this feature on by checking Patrol from the main Settings menu.Trap Badges:
Badges provide additional information about the validity and quality of a reported trap. All traps that have Moderator badges have been approved by our loyal team of moderators who scour and cleanse the traps reported into the system. Badges representing a specific sheriff department indicate that traps have been validated by the good folks who usually occupy them.Traps:
You can turn off the traps simply uncheck the box in the settings menu.Virtual Radar:
Our Virtual Radar indicates the area within which we pull our trap list to notify you. Should you wish to turn off the virtual radar, you can do so by unchecking this option in the settings menu.
