Windows Phone
To install Trapster for FREE, go to the Windows Marketplace directly on your phone and search for Trapster or scan in the QR code.
Main Screen
The blue circle shows your current GPS location and will follow you in real time. The emanating red lines show the Virtual Radar. The Virtual Radar dynamically narrows and elongates based on your speed and direction of travel. When you approach a trap or hazard, icons animate while an audio alert is played.Virtual Radar
Our Virtual Radar indicates the area within which we pull our trap list to notify you. Should you wish to turn off the virtual radar, you can do so by unchecking this option in the settings menu.
Intelligent Alerting
The Trapster Intelligent Alerting system only alerts you to traps that are along your route, eliminating extraneous alerts that can distract you from the road.
Voting
To verify the trap alert for others on the road, simply select the thumbs up or thumbs down symbol from the alert panel.Speedometer
Trapster’s Speedometer tracks your speed and changes colors from orange to red to indicate the amount you are driving over the set speed limit.Speed Limits
Our Speed Limit indicator tracks the speed limit for the road you are driving. It is synchronized with the Speedometer to notify you when you are over the limit.
Reporting Traps You See
Simply click on the Report button to report a trap along your route. When you select the appropriate trap type, it is placed at your current GPS position. If the correct position of the trap is different than your current GPS position, you can further pinpoint the correct location by dragging the map.
My Trips
Use the MyTrips feature to record your road trip with pictures, audio messages, and/or text notes. You can then share your trip with friends and family or others in your driving community through twitter. Choose to share it publically or send a link to your trip to a select few, you can even share your trip in real time, as you take it!
NAVTEQ Traffic
Real time traffic and incident alerts can also be enabled. The green, yellow, and red lines in the image below indicate fast, medium, and slow traffic conditions.
Search and Routing
Craving Pizza but you don’t know how to get to the nearest restaurant? Find restaurants and other places of interest from within Trapster. Simply click on the magnifying glass to initiate Search and Routing.
Sound Themes
Customize Trapster with one of 6 languages including English, French, German, Portuguese, Arabic, or Spanish. Or, select any of our fun sound themes, like: Hillbilly, Southern Bell, or NY Cab Driver! Check out the list under the audio section of our settings menu.
Trap Badges
Badges provide additional information about the validity and quality of a trap. Our loyal moderators have approved all traps with Moderator badges. Trapster Moderators are super users, who physically go out to validate traps and road hazards Sheriff department badges indicate one of the Sheriff’s departments we work with, have officially reported a trap.
Nearby Traps
Get a list of the traps in your vicinity by selecting the “Nearby Traps” option from the extended menu.
Social
Post your Trap Reports or MyTrips to your driving community by linking your Twitter account to Trapster.We highly recommend that you get a hands-free kit with car charger and dash or windshield mount.
